July 2024 — BibliovoreOrc (Seat 7) Tell the viewers a bit about yourself and your draft style I have been playing on and off since 1994, although these days I exclusively play EDH and cube. I like to draft decks with a proactive gameplan; red is my favorite color. How many Moddy Rotisserie drafts have you participated in? 6 or 7? Do you like or dislike the seat you were assigned? Why? It’s OK. I’d always rather be close to the front or the back of the order than in the middle. What’s your favorite card in Moddy? Say it with me: “Hellrider.” What’s your least favorite card in Moddy? The LotR misery artifacts, all the new creatures with ward for no reason. What is your strategy going into the draft? What’s your backup plan if your primary strategy is unavailable? If one of the powerful first-pick build arounds falls to me (unlikely, but it has been known to happen), I will take it and pivot to build around. (Ex: Fable, Palantir, etc.) If the top picks go as expected, my plan is to take Baby Tamiyo + a good blue cantrip, build U/x Tamiyo spells deck with whatever color seems available in the second half of the top-10 picks as the splash. Really any second color can work fine and has pieces the deck wants. If someone does something weird with a top pick that signals they want to fight for that strategy, too, I will just pivot to U/x aggro or Twin, both of which I think are strong and you have time to shift to. What card(s) do you think you can get late for your strategies? Snapcaster Mage seems devalued now; I think it’s still great. Chrome Host Seedshark has fallen a smidge; I think it’s top tier. I value Pact of Negation higher than other folks. Powerful multicolor cards in whichever color I wind up splashing. JvP has been falling and I also like the new 2-CMC Jace PW; I bet I can get one or both.
